Manufacturing Process

Happy Worker is a toy and gift manufacturer. We work with retailers, brands and organizations to create original snow globes and custom water globes. Specializing in high end collectible snow globes, we produce unique, inventive designs using premium materials. We generally create more than 1,000 snow globes at a time for clients in the marketing, events, retail merchandise, architecture, and design fields.

Because the snow globes we manufacture are designed from scratch just for our clients we’re able to take the design down countless roads. Our clients’ corporate mascots and brand characters can come to life inside this miniature world. Showcasing a building, location, or even a product is no problem. Telling a story geared toward literally any audience is happily possible. When designing your own snow globe, rules go out the window!

Timelines
Custom Snow Globe Creation-to-Delivery

Creating and delivering custom snow globes takes between 16 and 20 weeks. This includes snow globe design, prototyping, fabrication and freight. More time may be needed for custom snow globes with highly detailed designs, shaping or painting. We can provide a committed delivery date as soon as the final pre-production snow globe prototype is approved.

Custom Snow Globes Ideal Orders

Due to the amount of design brain time, passion and perfectionism we put into each new snow globe creation we prefer to work on snow globe projects of 1,000+ globes for medium snow globes (generally 6” or 15cm tall), or 1,500+ globes for small snow globes (3” or 8 cm tall). We can readily support projects ranging in the tens or hundreds of thousands of snow globes.

If you are planning a smaller number of snow globes you are welcome to contact us and together we can decide if there is a fit with the project.  Please note that we aren’t able to help with orders of fewer than 500 medium sized globes or 1,000 small globes.  It’s also important that you know that we put the same time and effort into each snow globe we make, regardless of the project size. So for smaller projects, “start-up” creative and pre-production investments such as design, prototyping and molds will represent a larger percentage of per-globe pricing when spread over a smaller number of snow globes.

 

Pricing
Custom Snow Globe Setup & Per-Unit

As with most things pricing varies depending on the snow globe’s size, complexity of design & painting, packaging, and the number of snow globes created at a time.  However, most snow globes we fabricate are priced at wholesale prices, or typically half of what the snow globe’s suggested retail price would be if they were sold at retail shops.

• Per-unit Pricing
  

  As a general pricing guideline, most medium sized snow globes range between $12/ea and $15/ea in quantity, while pricing for small snow globes can range from $8 to $11 in quantity, or less in the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of snow globes.

• “Start-up” Creative and Pre-production Investments
  

  Such as design, prototyping and molds are on top of the per-unit pricing, and can range from the high hundreds of dollars to low thousands of dollars depending on design needs and prototyping complexity.

• We Design to Budgets
  

  Because Happy Worker designs and manufactures custom snow globes from scratch, we are able to work backwards from budget targets and program goals to create and manufacture the best snow globes for the project budget.
