Life's Happiness and Unhappiness Begins at Work


Want to lead a happy life? Then you’d better like your job. New research at the University of Aberdeen has discovered that job satisfaction is the most critical factor in personal happiness and well being. Yes, even with a terrible family life, your leisure time spent primarily playing with your nose hairs, a number of medial ailments, bad finances and a big zero of a social life, as long as you love your job you may still be content. Potentially more shocking is that the three-year study focused on countries throughout Europe, including nations such as France, Greece and Spain – not normally places where work takes center stage. There’s an old Chinese expression, “happy wife, happy life” – maybe a new mantra for the managed will be “work strife, sad life”.
